Mechanical Overview
The PDG-III spring-loaded roller crusher is a high-energy, low-consumption device that has been developed and improved by our company over more than 20 years. It is suitable for fine crushing of materials with medium to low hardness and plays an important role among various ore-crushing equipment. This product is widely used in industries such as iron ore, steel slag, cement, refractory materials, alumina clinker, stone materials, corundum glass, and various metallurgical mineral raw materials, as well as in metal mines, non-metallic mines, refractory materials, manufactured sand, and ceramics.
Working principle
The PDG-III spring-loaded roller crusher consists of a drive unit, a frame assembly, crushing rollers, a spring thrust device, an adjustment mechanism, and a linkage mechanism.
The material is fed from above the two rollers and continuously conveyed between them by the squeezing rollers. After being subjected to a pressure of 50–200 MPa, it is discharged from beneath the machine with an ideal particle size.
Starting from the moment the material is gripped by the roll surface, it gradually experiences increasing forces exerted by the rolls, with the maximum pressure reaching up to 200 MPa. The discharged material, in addition to containing a certain proportion of powdered material, consists of the following:
Inside the particulate material, numerous cracks are generated, which can significantly reduce grinding energy consumption during further crushing.
Performance Features
• Utilizes advanced technology chrome-molybdenum alloy roller shells, with wear resistance 3-4 times that of conventional wear-resistant materials.
• The roller shells can be manufactured either as solid roller bodies or as split liners, depending on customer requirements. The solid roller-body shells employ advanced assembly technology, significantly enhancing the utilization rate of the roller’s wear-resistant layer and reducing users’ production and maintenance costs. The split-type crushing liners are assembled onto cast steel roller bodies and secured with bolts. When the liners wear to a certain extent during the crushing process, they can be replaced individually.
Fast speed reduces downtime and lowers production costs.
• Simple structure, compact footprint, and relatively easy operation and maintenance.
Adopting an integrated frame structure, the device reduces its footprint and minimizes vibration. This enhances operational stability, makes installation easier, and simplifies maintenance.
• Significantly enhanced dustproof and noise-reducing performance.
It is internally equipped with a dust-proof baffle, offering excellent sealing performance that prevents the scattering of fine particles generated during crushing. This results in reduced dust and lower operational noise, significantly improving the working environment.
• This unit features dual overload protection.
① The overload protection coupling, on the one hand, absorbs the impact forces generated during crushing to ensure smooth machine operation; on the other hand, it provides safety protection for the entire machine. Once the equipment becomes jammed internally or experiences an overload, the overload protection coupling automatically cuts off the power transmission, causing the motor to run idle and thereby protecting both the motor and the gearbox.
②The machine is equipped with an overload cushioning device. When the roller assembly experiences an overload due to excessive crushing force, the compression spring is forced to move radially outward horizontally, thereby increasing the gap between the rollers and providing simultaneous protection for both the roller assembly and the main shaft.
• The gap between rollers is arbitrarily adjustable, resulting in a high yield rate.
The gap between the grinding roller bodies of this machine is adjustable anywhere within the range of 0.1 mm to 20 mm. After setting the roller gap according to the desired particle size, the crushed particle size can be reliably controlled, and all particles meeting the ideal size are discharged from the bottom of the crushing chamber.
