Mechanical Overview
The toothed-roll crusher (spring-type) features a compact size, a high crushing ratio (5-8), low noise levels, a simple structure, high productivity, uniform particle size of the crushed material, low over-crushing rate, easy maintenance, sensitive overload protection, and reliable safety.
The toothed-roll crusher (spring-type) is suitable for industries such as lithium batteries, coal, ceramics, metallurgy, mining, chemical engineering, and building materials. It is particularly well-suited for crushing lepidolite, spodumene, or raw coal (including gangue) in large-scale lithium battery plants. The motor and reducer of the toothed-roll crusher are connected via an overload-protection coupling to prevent power overloads, and the system features sensor-based overload protection, ensuring safety and reliability.
The spacing between the toothed rollers can be adjusted according to the discharge requirements, and the roller bearings are centrally lubricated. The tooth profile is optimally designed, enabling selective crushing based on tensile and shear forces, resulting in high efficiency, low energy consumption, and uniform particle size. Depending on the characteristics and requirements of the material being crushed, the toothed roller crusher can be equipped with coarse-toothed rollers, medium-toothed rollers, or fine-toothed rollers.
Working principle
The toothed-roll crusher primarily uses specially designed, wear-resistant toothed rolls that rotate at high speed to shear and compress the material, thereby achieving a mechanism with high productivity.
The toothed-roll crusher consists of a transmission device, a frame section, crushing rollers, a mechanical spring mechanism, and a linkage mechanism.
The particle size of the output from a toothed-roll crusher is related to the selected toothed-roll structure type; when making your selection, you must specify the desired output particle size.
After the roller surface wears down, the width of the discharge opening increases, allowing the movable roller to be adjusted at any time. After adjustment, the width of the discharge opening decreases, effectively ensuring a high yield of finished products.
Performance Features
• Features both screening and crushing functions.
The two toothed rollers are fixedly installed, and their relative motion resembles that of a rotating grizzly screen. Materials meeting the particle-size requirements first pass through the gaps between the toothed rollers or between the toothed rollers and the lining plates, achieving preliminary screening. This prevents those materials from undergoing further crushing by the roller teeth, thereby reducing both over-crushing and energy consumption, shortening the time the roller teeth spend in operation, and extending their service life. At the same time, the toothed rollers rotate at the same speed in opposite directions, delivering superior shearing and compressive crushing effects. Moreover, the movement of the roller teeth forces the crushed material to be discharged efficiently, making blockages less likely to occur. As a result, this configuration is particularly well-suited for handling sticky materials and materials with higher moisture content.
• Employs dual overload protection
① The overload protection coupling, on the one hand, absorbs the impact forces generated during crushing, ensuring smooth machine operation; on the other hand, it provides safety protection for the entire machine. Once the equipment becomes jammed internally or experiences an overload, the overload protection coupling automatically cuts off the power transmission, causing the motor to run idle and thereby protecting both the motor and the gearbox.
② The machine is equipped with an overload cushioning device. When the toothed rollers are overloaded due to excessive crushing force, the compression spring is forced to move radially outward horizontally, thereby increasing the gap between the toothed rollers and providing simultaneous protection for both the toothed rollers and the main shaft.
• Flexible assembly, easy maintenance
The toothed roller body can be manufactured either as a solid roller body or as a split liner, depending on customer requirements. The solid roller body features an advanced assembly technology for the roller ring, which significantly improves the utilization rate of the wear-resistant layer and reduces users’ production and maintenance costs. In the split-type toothed roller, the crushing tooth plates and tooth rings are mounted on the shaft and secured with bolts. When the wear of the tooth sleeves reaches a certain level during the crushing process, individual components can be quickly replaced, minimizing downtime and lowering production costs.
• Reasonably structured, long service life
The crushing roller teeth feature a special helical arrangement that not only facilitates the discharge of materials meeting particle-size requirements but also reduces the number of teeth simultaneously bearing load, thereby enabling efficient crushing of large-sized materials. At the same time, the dual-action effect of the tooth tips and tooth bases ensures thorough material crushing, reducing the workload on individual teeth, enhancing crushing efficiency, and extending the service life of the entire machine.
