The spiral idler is primarily used to remove debris adhering to the conveyor belt and also helps with slight belt misalignment correction. Our company’s spiral idlers feature a novel design, convenient installation and maintenance, self-centering operation for smooth conveying, anti-sticking properties, low noise levels, minimal energy consumption, and extended service life for the conveyor belt.
Cleaning Function: By welding left- or right-handed helical round steel bars with diameters ranging from 10 to 14 millimeters onto the roller surface, or by adding a spiral groove and casting a rubber sleeve onto the outer surface to enhance the roller's wear resistance, adhesions on the conveyor belt can be thoroughly removed. This effectively ensures the extended service life of the belt in belt conveyors.
Tensioning and anti-deviation function: In the roller assembly, both side rollers are tapered spiral rollers—but they have opposite screw directions. One side roller is left-handed, while the other is right-handed. This arrangement ensures that the lateral forces applied to the conveyor belt always point toward the centerline. As the conveyor belt moves, the spiral design of the rollers generates axial forces in opposite directions.
